BEFORE THE RACE
How can I enter the event? Please go to the 'Book Now' button on the race website
When will entries close? One week before event day
Can I enter over the phone? Yes - we can usually take payments over the phone
Are there entries on the day? Yes, unless the race sells out before race day – please check the website or call us to check a couple of days before. A surcharge of £3 will be charged on the day
How do I know if my online entry worked? You will receive an automated confirmation by email
Can spectators use the bus transport? Yes, spectators are welcome to book the bus, however this must be booked and paid for at least 3 weeks in advance
How much is it to book the bus? £8
How do I know when/where/how to catch the bus? You will be advised how/when/where by email in the week before race day
What are the withdrawal and refund details? Please see terms and conditions on the event website
Can I transfer my entry to another athlete? Yes – up until 3 weeks before event day. Please see the terms and conditions on the event website
How/when will I receive my race pack? No race packs will be sent out in the post – you can pick up your race pack from registration on event day. Please see the COMPETITOR INFORMATION PACK on the race website for details
Can I give my race number to someone else? No sorry – this is absolutely not allowed. If there should be a medical emergency it is vital that we know who is taking part under each event number
Are there any age restrictions? You must be at least 17 years of age on event day
I am ill, injured or unable to take part - what do I do? Please see the Terms and Conditions on the Event Website
I can't take part in the event, can I get a refund? Please see the Terms and Conditions on the Event Website
Am I allowed to raise money for a nominated charity? The race's nominated charity is TVAC Air Ambulance and they would be delighted if you would consider fundraising for them. However, you are of course welcome to raise money for whichever charity you choose
ON THE DAY
What is a 'Point-to-Point' race? This means that the race starts and finishes at different points. The 'Down Tow Up Flow' follows the Thames towpath between Marlow & Windsor and reverses direction each year.

Is there parking? There is parking at both ends of the route. Please see the COMPETITOR INFORMATION PACK on the race website for details
How do I get there? Please see the 'COMPETITOR INFORMATION PACK on the race website for details
What is the nearest station to the start? Marlow Station for the start: Windsor Central or Riverside for the finish
What time should I arrive on the day? Registration opens at 08:00 and the event starts at 10am. We recommend that you arrive as early as possible to avoid last minute panics
What will I be given on the day? You will receive your race number and your chip. Your race number should be pinned with four safety pins to the FRONT of your running top. Please do not obscure it at any time. If you don’t have safety pins, there will be some at registration. Your chip will be on the back of your number - please do not remove or tamper with it in any way. The chip number may or may not tally with your race number - please do not worry about this!
Is there anywhere I can leave my bag while I'm competing? Yes, there will be a baggage van at the start where you can leave a small bag - this will then be taken to the finish for you free of charge
Are there toilets available? Yes, there will be toilet provision on-site
Are there showers at the finish? Sorry, no showers
What other facilities are there? There will be toilets, a catering outlet for both before and after your race and a massage tent at the finish
Are there toilets along the route of the course? There are no event toilets along the course
Can I wear headphones? We never advise wearing anything that can affect your hearing marshals instructions or other towpath users, however we do not ban them
Is there any first aid on the course? There is full medical back-up for the event
Are there any water stations on the course? Yes, there will be at least 4 water stations along the route
How does the 'WAVE' start work? Just before race day, you will be given your wave Red/Blue/Green according to your estimated time. Each wave will be called to the start, with Red going first, then Blue, then Green. It is not possible to change waves on race day - if you want to change waves, please let us know immediately after receiving your wave
Is there a time limit on finishing the race? There is no cut-off time to complete the course. However, the marshals will be stood down after 3 hours; if you are still running by that time, please be aware that there will be no marshals at junctions and you will need to follow the signage
AFTER THE RACE
When and where will the results be published? Results will be published on the 'Results/Photos' tab on the event website as soon as possible after the event
Where can I find photos afterwards? Photos will be published on the 'Results/Photos' tab on the event website as soon as possible after the event
Are there food or refreshments at the event? Yes, you will be able to buy coffee, tea, food, etc, before and after the race
Are there any prizes? Yes – prizes are awarded to the first three male & female finishers. 1st Male & Female receive a voucher each worth £50 from NewRunningGear.com. First male and female veteran in each age category also receive a prize (40/50/60/70+)
Will I get a medal at the finish? Yes all finishers will receive a fantastic bespoke DTUF medal!
