BEFORE THE RACE
How can I enter the events? You can enter the HM, 5k, 10k & Junior Races via the online registration
When will entries close? One week before event day
Can I enter over the phone? Yes - we can usually take payments over the phone
Are there entries on the day? Yes – unless the event is sold out beforehand. Please check the website or call us to check a couple of days before. A surcharge of £3 will be charged on the day
How do I know if my online entry worked? You will receive an automated confirmation by email
What are the withdrawal and refund details? Please see terms and conditions on the event website
Can I transfer my entry to another athlete? Yes – up until 3 weeks before event day. Please see the terms and conditions on the event website
How do I receive my race pack? No race packs will be sent out in the post – you can pick up your race pack from registration on race day- details are in the COMPETITOR INFORMATION PACK
Can I give my race number to someone else? No sorry – this is absolutely not allowed. If there should be a medical emergency it is vital that we know who is taking part under each event number
Are there any age restrictions? You must be at least 17 yrs on the day for the HM; 15 yrs for the 10k; 11 yrs for the 5k
I am ill, injured or unable to take part - what do I do? Please see the Terms and Conditions on the Event Website
I can't take part in the event, can I get a refund? Please see the Terms and Conditions on the Event Website
Am I allowed to raise money for a nominated charity? The races nominated charity is Thames Valley Air Ambulance and they would be delighted if you would consider fundraising for them (please go to their website for more information on the charity). However, you are of course welcome to raise money for whichever charity you choose
ON THE DAY
Where is the venue? Heyford Park, Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire, OX25 5HD
Is there parking? Yes there is plenty of free on-site parking
How do I get there? Full directions can be found in the COMPETITOR INFORMATION PACK
What time should I arrive on the day? Registration opens at 08:30 and the adult races start at 10am. The Junior Races start at approx 09:30am. We recommend that you arrive as early as possible to avoid last minute panics
What will I be given on the day? You will receive your race number, your chip and your baggage tag. Your race number should be pinned with four safety pins to the FRONT of your running top. Please do not obscure it at any time. If you don’t have safety pins, there will be some at registration. Your chip will be on the back of your number – please do not remove or tamper with the chip or it may not work
Is there anywhere I can leave my bag while I'm competing? Yes, there will be a supervised storage area for you to leave one small bag. Please attach the baggage tag in your race pack to your bag before going to the baggage van. Although we will do our utmost to keep it safe, this is entirely at your own risk – so please don’t leave valuables
Are there toilets available? Yes, there will be toilet provision on-site
Are dogs allowed at the event? Sorry no – dogs are not allowed
Are there showers? Sorry, no showers
What other facilities are there? There will be toilets, catering outlets for both before and after your race, massage tent, various stalls and children's entertainment
Are there toilets along the route of the course? There are no event toilets along the course
Can I wear headphones? We advise against wearing headphones or anything that makes hearing marshals instructions difficult. However, we do not ban them
Is there any first aid on the course? There is full medical back-up for the event
Are there any water stations on the course? Yes, there will be water provision on the course
How long is the course? There are three courses: Half Marathon, 5k & 10k. There is also a Junior race course
Is there a time limit on finishing the race? There is no cut-off time, however marshals will be stood down 3 hours after the start of the races
AFTER THE RACE
When and where will the results be published? Results will be published on the 'Results' tab on the event website as soon as possible after the event
Where can I find photos afterwards? Photos will be published on the 'Details' tab on the event website as soon as possible after the event
Are there food or refreshments at the event? Yes, you will be able to buy coffee, tea, food, etc, before and after the race
Are there any prizes? Yes – prizes are awarded to the first three male & female finishers plus first male and female veteran in each age category
Will I get a medal at the finish? Yes all finishers will receive a fantastic Heyford Park Airbase Race medal!
What time do the Junior Races start? The first Junior Race will go off at 09:30am
What are the distances and age groups? U-7's will complete approx 600m; U-9's & U-11's will complete approx 1km
When and where should we pick up race packs? You can pick up your race pack from registration on race day – details are in the COMPETITOR INFORMATION PACK
Are there prizes for the Junior Races? Yes, there are prizes - 1st boy and girl in each category will recieve a winners medal.
Do Juniors receive a medal? Yes all Juniors will receive a finishers medal
Can my child enter on the day? We will take late entries on the day so long as we have not sold out - please check the website a couple of days before race day to check. Late entries, if taken, will be £8 - details are in the COMPETITOR INFORMATION PACK
Are the Junior routes safe and traffic-free? Yes, all Junior races take place within the airbase
